Training Derailment
Our training has officially been derailed by Christmas. More specifically, Christmas parties. One only hopes that whilst Steve is under the watchful eye of El Bastido, he is dealing with any sabotage attempts with the disdain they deserve.
Speaking of railways, check out this train that we saw at Richmond Train Station (ONE stop out of the Melbourne CBD) on the way back from a Christmas party last week:
Seriously, WTF kind of cargo goes through Melbourne's commuter network at night?
10km match race: DeRock declared the winner

So Blairy and DeRock decided they'd settle who was the fastest of them all in a mano-a-mano 10km match race to the death.
After going out hard, DeRock faded badly in the second half, to post a time just under an hour (59:37.05) whilst Blairy came in at 1:06:41.06.
It's not a bad result, considering the total lack of preparation for this event, but both results were slightly disappointing, and much improvement needs to be displayed before training begins in earnest in the new year.
Oh, and here is the video of the remedial training that Brad is putting us through if we post another 50+ minute 10km run.
El Bastido, we have you in our sights.

Cross training!

Total Fitness.
We've got our game on and we are hunting the head man, El Bastido (Don) and his band of banditos.
The secret to ultimate fitness is cross training (at least that is what I saw on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b23qBIGrGeQ
So I am off to buy a huge tractor tire so that we can flip it for miles on end whilst jumping across it.
So some goals for the team:
1) 4% body fat (total for all team members..)
2) 12 Pack Abs (because 6 packs are for girls..)
3) Winner of "Best Mullet" award during the competition (Derek is already working on this..)
4) Winner of "Best Competiton Outfit", because coordinating lycra is hard to do these days..
And last but not least.....
5) ...100km's, 20 hours, no sleep, 4 meat eaters....AND ONE ROLL OF TOILET PAPER.
We are HARD CORE.

Testing by South of the Border Cowboys

Mick, I think you're taking this Mexican Cowboy thing too far. Please shave your Mo off, even if it's for a good Mo-vember cause.
